X-am 8000 VOC detector with PID sensor (photoionization)

The X-am 8000 VOC PID sensor is devoted to volatile organic compounds detection. It includes a 10.6 eV photoionization lamp (PID sensor) available in 2 measurement scales HC (0-2000 pm) and LC (0-10 ppm) for better measurement accuracy. It can be used in diffusion or gas sampling pump mode.

  • 2 PID sensors are available for better VOC detection accuracy: HC (0-2000 ppm) or LC (0-10 ppm)
  • Use in diffusion or gas sampling mode
  • Color LCD display, simultaneous and continuous display of all gases
  • Approval: ATEX and IECEx, IEC, 2004/108/CE
  • Possibility of adding four additional sensors
Additional information

The Dräger X-am 8000 VOC PID sensor is the most powerful and complete VOC detector in its class to detect volatile organic compounds in industrial environments. Two PID sensors are available: a standard 0-2000 ppm range for most VOCs with an IP power lower than 10.6 eV and a low concentration 0-10 ppm range for benzene detection.

In addition to the PID sensor, it is possible to add four cells for the detection of explosive or flammable gases, toxic gases (AsH3, B2H6, Br2, Cl2, ClO2, CO, CO2, F2, H2, H2S, HCN, NH3, NO, NO2, O3, PH3, SiH4, SO2) and asphyxiants (O2, N2, CO2).

The device has a complete alert system (vibration, audible and visual LED alarm), is ATEX certified (I M1, II 1G - Ex da ia I Ma, Ex da ia IIC T4 Ga), and is rechargeable by induction. A dedicated sampling pump can be added to the device for sampling up to 30 meters.

Main VOC detected with the PID cell* : Acetylene (C2H2) - Ethanol (C2H6O) - Ethylene (C2H4) - Ethylene oxide (C2H4O) - Styrene (C8H8)

Explosive gases and CO2 (infrared cells) : Methane (CH4) - Butane (C4H10) - Propane (C3H8) - Pentane (C5H12) - Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Toxic gases (DrägerSensor XXS) : Arsine (AsH3) - Ammonia (NH3) - Bromine (Br2) - Chlorine (CL2) - Hydrogen cyanide (HCN) - Diborane (B2H6) - Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) - Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) - Sulfur dioxide (SO2) - Fluorine (F2) - Formaldehyde (CH2O) - Hydrogen (H2) - Nitric oxide (NO) - Carbon monoxide (CO) - Oxygen (O2) - Ozone (O3) - Phosgene (COCL2) - Phosphine (PH3) - Silane (SiH4) - Hydrogen sulfide (H2S)
