The D12-IR N2O Nitrous oxide fixed detector is an ATEX gas transmitter with 4-20 mA output, alarm relay, and a digital display that may be connected to a control system (PLC, central gas detection system) or used as a stand-alone control point. It is widespread in the medical sector, dental offices, and veterinary clinics.
Fixed nitrous oxide (N2O) gas detector with non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology
Corrosion-resistant cast aluminum housing with sintered flame arrestors (ATEX certified)
Backlit LCD graphic display and 4-20 mA linear output as standard
Alarm relay, Modbus, or HART communication options available
Non-intrusive parameterization and calibration via magnetic switch
Additional information
Based on the infrared absorption principle, the D12-IR N2O nitrous oxide fixed detector is widespread in the chemical industry (nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing), the medical sector (operating rooms, dental offices, veterinary clinics), and wastewater treatment. It is an ATEX gas transmitter with an LCD and linear 4-20 mA output.
A simple magnet is used to operate the non-intrusive keys of the operator interface, allowing to complete the device configuration and calibration without opening the housing, a real relevant asset in ATEX areas. Depending on the needs and applications, additional options are available such as a 3-relay card (potentially free) or a digital communication card (HART or MODBUS protocol) for universal commands or measurement logs downloads.
Other infrared sensors than nitrous oxide are available for the detection of flammable gases: acetone, chloromethane, cyclomethane, dichloromethane, ethane, ethanol, ethyl acetate, ethylene, hexane, MEK, methane, methanol, n-Butanol, ethylene oxide, pentane, propane, propanol, propylene, toluene, xylene or carbon dioxide (CO2).
